Volunteering for CWRC

Are you interested in volunteering for CWRC? Please read the information below, and complete our online form here

Our current volunteering opportunities are detailed below. Some roles can begin almost immediately, other require training. If you have already contacted us about volunteering, please bear with us and we will get back to you. It’s been a very busy few months!

Immediate volunteer roles:

  • Glass collecting at Cambridge Beer Festival 20-25th May 2024
    • We need outgoing and confident volunteers to collect glasses and donations at the Cambridge Beer Festival. This is an amazing opportunity to raise funds and have some fun. We need a minimum of one three-hour shift from each volunteer.
  • Centre makeover
    • We need help decluttering, moving furniture, putting up pictures and some minor decorating to continue making the centre a bright and welcoming space.
  • Cataloguing archives
    • We have 40 years of archive ranging from feminist books and magazines (lots of Spare Ribs) to records of CWRC’s activities over the years. We are considering donating to a public collection, but first we need to sort, catalogue and properly store the materials. This would be a great role for someone with knowledge of archiving and an interest in feminist history.
  • Free Shop support
    • CWRC receives donations of clothing, toiletries and other items. We need support to sort through donations and replenish the stock in our free shop. When supplies are running low, you will support our Comms Officer to reach out for donations.
  • Social Media and Website support
    • Are you a Meta Business Suite pro? A WordPress wizard? We are having a few niggles with our Social Media and website. Please let us know if you could help us out.

The volunteer roles below require a more detailed induction and training.

  • Volunteer support worker
  • Volunteer tutor/facilitator
  • Volunteer session support
  • Volunteer counsellor
  • Volunteer coordinator
    • We are looking for someone who can help coordinate our team of potential and current volunteers.
