CWRC is a Women’s Centre providing educational courses, group activities and individual support. We run the Freedom Programme for women who have been subjected to domestic abuse, and offer advice and advocacy on issues including housing, benefits, and accessing food and grant support.

Established in 1982, CWRC has spent over four decades supporting women in Cambridge and beyond, including those facing poverty, homelessness, poor housing, abuse and trauma. Today we support over 500 women a year, reflecting the level of need in our community.

Our team brings experience from the non-profit, public, health and education sectors, including specialists in health and wellbeing, education, domestic abuse support and youth work. Many of our team also bring lived experience, understanding first-hand some of the challenges the women we support are facing. We offer a safe, trauma-informed environment for every woman who walks through our doors, helping to build a sense of friendship and community, and empowering women who need support to move forward.
