We support women facing housing difficulties, including homelessness, unsafe or unsuitable housing and understanding housing options. We can help you understand your situation and take the next steps.
How we can help
We offer one-to-one support for your situation, including:
- Understanding your housing options, including: homeless applications, Home-Link and social housing, mutual exchange, private rented accommodation and supported housing.
- Support if you are at risk of eviction or homeless.
- Dealing with arrears.
- Contacting councils, housing providers, or landlords.
- Resettling after fleeing domestic abuse, being granted asylum or leaving prison.
Homeless applications and housing systems
Making a homeless application is stressful and confusing process. We can help you understand what to expect and what to do next, including:
- Making a homelessness application
- Dealing with forms, applications and phone calls.
- Understanding the legal process and what the council’s duties to you are.
- Knowing what to expect in temporary or emergency accommodation
Home-Link (the housing register)
- Support to register with Home-Link or other housing systems
- Understanding how bidding works
- Check your banding and request reviews if needed
- Keep your application up to date
Wider support
Housing is often linked to other issues. We can also help with:
- Benefits and finances
- Access to food banks or essential items
- Recovering after domestic abuse.
- Furnishing and heating your home on a low income.
